Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use freyIQ. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past — it is short because we genuinely collect very little.

Who is responsible

As the operator is based in Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP/revDSG) applies to this website.

Your test answers never leave your browser

This is the part most people care about, so it comes first. Every question, every answer you select, your score and your IQ estimate are calculated inside your own browser. They are never transmitted to our server, never stored in a database, and never linked to your name or email address. We do not know your result — not before you pay, and not after.

To let you leave the page and come back without losing your progress, your answers are held in your browser's own storage:

• freyiq-run — your answers and elapsed time for the current test run. Session storage; deleted automatically when you close the browser tab, and immediately once your result is unlocked.
• freyiq-session — the ID of your current Stripe payment, so that closing the payment window by accident cannot cause you to be charged twice. Session storage; deleted once the result is unlocked.
• freyiq-lang — whether you chose English or German. Local storage; stays until you clear your browser data.

These are not tracking cookies. They are not sent to us and cannot be read by anyone else.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. When you buy your result, you enter your email address and payment details directly into Stripe's payment form. Your card number never reaches our server and we never see it.

Our server asks Stripe only one question after a payment: whether that particular payment was completed. We receive a yes or no, the amount and the currency — nothing else. Stripe stores your email address and payment record as an independent controller for its own legal and anti-fraud obligations. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Stripe sets its own cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) to detect fraud. These are required for the payment to work at all.

Advertising measurement

We advertise this website through Google Ads. To find out which advertisements actually lead to a purchase, we use Google's tag (gtag.js), provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC.

When it runs, Google may receive:

• your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
• the page you are on, the referring page, and the time of your visit;
• browser, operating system and device type;
• a click identifier (gclid) if you arrived by clicking one of our advertisements, stored in cookies beginning with _gcl_;
• if you complete a purchase: the fact that a purchase happened, its value (USD 2.99) and the Stripe payment ID used to avoid counting the same purchase twice.

We never send your name, your email address or your test result to Google. In Google Ads we only ever see aggregated numbers — how many purchases an advertisement produced, never who made them.

You can prevent this measurement entirely by using Google's ad settings, by installing Google's opt-out add-on, or by using any common content blocker. The test itself works normally either way. See also Google's privacy policy.

Server logs

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. Like every web server, it automatically records each request: IP address, date and time, the file requested, the referring page and your browser identification. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting, are not combined with any other data, and are deleted on the host's normal rotation schedule.

Where your data goes

Stripe and Google are based in, or transfer data to, the United States. Switzerland recognises the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework, and both providers additionally rely on Standard Contractual Clauses. We share data with no one else — we do not sell data, we do not trade it, and we run no advertising network of our own.

How long we keep things

• Test answers and results: only in your browser, for the duration of your test run.
• Payment records: kept by Stripe under its own retention rules and by us for as long as accounting law requires.
• Advertising cookies: up to 90 days, set by Google.
• Server logs: on the host's rotation schedule.

Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law you may request access to the data we hold about you, have inaccurate data corrected, have data deleted, and object to its processing. In practice the only personal data connected to a purchase is held by Stripe, so a request about a payment will be passed to them.

Write to support@freyiq.com. We answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Anyone under 16 should have the agreement of a parent or guardian before making a purchase.

Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, we update this page and the date at the top. Please check back occasionally.
